Alcohol Withdrawal Warnings

If you are planning to undergo alcohol detoxification, or the process of cleansing the alcohol from the body, then you should make sure that you really know what you are in for. As an alcohol-dependent individual, you should realize that your body reacts differently to alcohol when compared to the average person. A person who is suffering from an alcoholic condition has a body that is physically dependent on alcohol. What this means is that after the sudden deprivation of alcohol from the alcoholics body, there is a high percentage of the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal to become manifest within 6-8 hours. It is during this time-frame when the first stage of alcohol withdrawal syndrome occurs. The first batch of symptoms will be signaled by a fever, which may come with nausea, some mild vomiting, migraine and hyperactivity. The second stage of alcohol withdrawal takes place after about 10 hours since the initial onset of the syndrome and is the period of highest risk wherein drug treatment may need to be administered.
